Who’s Exporting Medicinal Cannabis?

Julie Fulton @ 2019-06-12 15:31:33 -0500

The Middle East. North America. Europe. Cultivators in each region are providing cannabis to the health and wellness sector in other countries. Distributing product worldwide means LPs must control evaporation to protect the potency and efficacy of this medicine. Hear about licensed producers who are “doing it right” to meet demand and ensure quality. And learn which cannabis company is a rocket ship. (Time to invest?)

Listen and learn:

  • Which countries are the leading exporters of medical cannabis?
  • What’s the projected value of the legal cannabis industry in the U.S. in 2019?
  • What cannabis companies should investors watch?
  • What do cannabis consumers want LPs to know?

The Cannabis Catch-Up is sponsored by Boveda, the leader in two-way humidity control for buds. Subscribe to the Boveda Cannabis YouTube Channel. Or listen to Lance Lambert’s insights live every Monday at 4:20 pm EST on The Todd Shapiro Show (SiriusXM Channel 167).

Said on social: flower is too dry

Consumers and patients are now more educated about their cannabis. Lance said he’s read plenty of posts from consumers who said they could crush flower between their fingers. They didn’t even need a grinder! And that’s not how cannabis is meant to be consumed. Buds should be sticky and plump to preserve trichomes, not dry and shake-like.

Consumers are using social platforms to alert LPs—and all who follow them, including potential investors—about sub-par flower. But overly dry flower is completely avoidable for cultivators.

Boveda Vs Without

“A lot of people are complaining about the quality of flower and theyre actually calling out Boveda to the LPs that arent using us. Thats proof that the people, the consumers—whether medical or adult-use—knowing they demand quality in the flower.”

During the cure, LPs can rehydrate flower slowly and carefully back to an optimal moisture level with a 2-way humidity control packet, like Boveda. Once the product leaves their facilities, LPs can continue to protect product by controlling moisture loss. Flower that’s stored, distributed and packaged without proper humidification dries out fast. How much can moisture loss cost a cannabis operation?

HOW INVESTING IN CANNABIS DIFFERS FROM DOT-COM

Lance likened the growth potential of cannabis investments to what he experienced during the the dot-com boom with one BIG EXCEPTION. Dot-com companies were largely speculative.

“[With cannabis firms] you’re investing in a tangible. Investing in the future and it’s a true product. They have the books and the track record to show it.”
